Enter the Louvre Museum, the largest museum in the world and a former royal palace of the kings of France. First opened to the public in 1793, the Louvre spans 73,000 square meters and holds the world’s largest collection of artworks, covering more than 7,000 years of history.

The Louvre’s galleries are divided into eight main departments: Egyptian Antiquities; Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities; Near Eastern Antiquities; Islamic Arts; Paintings; Sculptures; Decorative Arts; and Graphic Arts.

Each division highlights a distinct chapter of human creativity, from the relics of ancient civilisations to the artistic innovations of the 19th century, guiding visitors through centuries of cultural expression.

Meet your host at the Arc du Carrousel du Louvre and follow them through priority access to your first stop: the Mona Lisa, painted by Leonardo da Vinci in 1506.

Once there, your host will allow you to admire the painting at your own pace before continuing your visit independently.
