Call of Duty, one of the most popular shooters in the world, returns for its third year at the Esports World Cup with COD BO7 at EWC 26.

Atlanta FaZe won the Call of Duty event at EWC 2024, and OpTic Gaming claimed the 2025 title after a historic comeback, setting the stage for another fierce championship run in 2026.

It is a fast-paced, tactical shooter where players choose from a cast of veteran characters, each with unique Perks that give an edge in combat. Scorestreaks allow players to vanish, throw unlimited shuriken, or see through walls, adding layers of strategy on expansive, realistic maps.

Competitive play centers on three modes: Search and Destroy, where one team defends bomb sites while the other attempts to plant them; Control, which challenges teams to capture two zones on the map; and Hardpoint, featuring rotating points that teams must hold to earn points.
